The Jane Goodall Institute

Founded by renowned primatologist Jane Goodall, the Jane Goodall Institute is a global nonprofit that empowers people to make a difference for all living things.

Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots program is about making positive change happen—for our people, for animals and for the environment. With tens of thousands of young people in more than 150 countries, the Roots & Shoots network connects youth of all ages who share a desire to create a better world. Young people identify problems in their communities and take action. Through service projects, youth-led campaigns and an interactive website, Roots & Shoots members are making a difference across the globe.

The long awaited University of Peace is about to become a reality on Mt.Tron in Alvdal, Norway and it aspires to become a transnational centre for humanity.

Here the human being itself is the centre of attention, and not phenomena, religion or politics.

It will focus on human integration, human dignity and human possibilities, and work to develop the whole human being - physically, mentally and spiritually - solely through the individual's own natural resources. It will also raise central and universal human issues on the collective level and function as a sanctuary and forum for humankind.

The Mt.Tron University of Peace offers a concrete and unique plan on a large scale for individual harmony and collective peace, never before tried in this world.

Nuclear Age Peace Foundation

Nuclear Weapons and a Sustainable Future 

David Krieger, President of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, has published a Briefing Paper for the 2012 Non-Proliferation Treaty PrepCom entitled "Nuclear Weapons and a Sustainable Future." The paper, which will be distributed to the delegation of each country that is a part of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, calls for bold action so that negotiations for a Nuclear Weapons Convention may begin.


Human Rights Education Associates (HREA) is an international non-governmental organisation that supports human rights learning; the training of activists and professionals; the development of educational materials and programming; and community-building through on-line technologies.


Global Movement for a Culture of Peace and non-violence

CPNN, the Culture of Peace News Network, is a space where readers exchange information about events, experiences, books, music, and web news that promote a culture of peace. It is a self-sustaining network in which You, the reader, are invited to write a news report and contribute to its discussion, and eventually to become a reporter. CPNN is a project of the United Nations International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World.

The National Peace Academy

The National Peace Academy takes a holistic approach to the development of the peacebuilder. The inner and personal work and learning is as important the outer and professional. Their understanding of peace is shaped by the definition contained in the Earth Charter of peace as the “wholeness created by right relationships with oneself, other persons, other cultures, other life, Earth, and the larger whole of which all are a part.” 


Curriculum of Hope for a Peaceful World

The mission of the Curriculum of Hope for a Peaceful World Committee is to study and promote critical thinking, conflict resolution, and co-operative learning skills toward a more peaceful world. The committee discusses peace issues; publishes and distributes a quarterly newsletter; presents workshops and exhibits at Delta Kappa Gamma Chapter meetings and State, Regional and International Conferences and Conventions; develops peace programs for children and adults; and promulgates peacemaking resources.
